"I have read but 4 of James Herberts' books and I bought a Creed paperback in a second hand bookshop a few years ago. From start to finish this is a book you cannot put down as it has so many twists and turns and is not a book to be read late at night. Out of all James Herberts' collection this is my favourite along with the Rats trilogy."

"This shows a different view from such greats as Haunted, with its rather dry, but deliciously dark humour, the 'hero' unlikable, sometimes a liar, a man who is almost totally amoral, a great read, and a wonderful plot. And it all leads to what are the first words of the book, Demons are a shoddy lot today. Read it and laugh and be very afraid "
