Only; I'm currently reading a book I got, for free. Recommended by an author I'm so enamoured with, I haven't yet found the words to suitably sing his praises with, here.

Hell. This is getting complicated!

Look: There's an author I'm Deeply into. Got, probably. around twenty of his books. So far. He, through a mailing list, directed me to a 'free, on line, for one day only' book. Readable with a free, Amazon Kindle reader?

I did the business. And it's been keeping me occupied ever since! Bloody brilliant book!

Interestingly; It's probably about 'half way' between Jim's stuff and the stuff that the author who presented it to me does

Who are the authors?

Matt; The kindle book I'm reading is by Chet Williamson. It's actually the third part of a trilogy. But, it's standing up perfectly well on its own. Had I known this though, I'd have bought the first two books and saved this one, on my kindle, for later consumption.

Trilogy are " The Searchers ". This book's called " Seige of Stone ". And it's f**king good!


The guy who sent me there is Andrew Vachss. This guy is GOD. No good trying to dispute that. I simply won't f**king listen His " Burke " novels are just fantastic. He's written about twenty of them and I have about three more left to buy.

Check out his short stories, for a taste of how good he is. As Playboy magazine put it; " He's about as serious as a punctured lung! "

But, f**k all that. Just know that every book this guy sells ~ and he sells shit loads! ~ feeds him and pays the rent. That leaves him free to carry on with his day job. And that's as a Lawyer. Only, a very different kind of lawyer.

Vachss represents only children. And he specialises in representing kids who have been victims of abuse. Obviously, kiddies can't pay lawyers fees and, if their father's been f**king them all their short lives, he's hardly going to foot the bill for them!

That's why Andrew Vachss writes books. So he can afford to represent children, in court, free of charge

Okay. He may not be 'God'. But he's certainly a living, breathing f**king HERO!

I would suggest ye look at 'this' or 'that' on The Zero. But, hell; Who am I to try to decide what ye should delve into there? Just help yeself. Feel out any aspect of the guy ye like.

If ye in UK, of course, ye cam likely pick up the earlier Burke novels, off Amazon for 1p, and ye just covering the standard postage. Be warned though; They're addictive and there's a Lot of them! Ye need some shelf space!

I'm hopelessly lost on this guy. I'm going to put up a whole section of new shelving here, just for his books. I want them all!
