## About James Herbert

James Herbert was born on 8 April 1943 in London's East End. He published his debut novel, The Rats, in 1974 and became Britain's No.1 bestselling horror author — a position he held until his death on 20 March 2013. He was awarded an OBE in 2010 and named Grand Master of Horror by the World Horror Convention in the same year. His 23 novels have sold over 55 million copies worldwide.
